Prati-Donaduzzi and Toledo City Hall developed more one action of “Sustainable Prati” project last week. The students of Engenheiro Waldyr Luiz Becker Municipal School, on Jardim Coopagro, had the opportunity of making a technical visit in a company of organic waste composting.
The students got to know how the large scale process works, since the collection, transport, treatment and final destination of class II organic wastes-in accordance with ABTN 10004:2004 , by using the process of aerobic composting and biotechnology, in accordance with the effective environmental regulations.
“We applied the theory of composting process to the children in classroom so that they can apply that at home with their parents. This visit reinforce the students that the same might be carried out in large scale by industries, business places and the municipality, making those wastes not turn into environmental passive which damages the environment”, Prati-Donaduzzi´s environmental technician, Faneza de Oliveira explains.
On that occasion, the students and teachers received a sample of ready-made fertilizer to take it home, where they will be able to use it on their plants and vegetable gardens. “Prati-Donaduzzi is an environmentally correct company and in partnership with Compostec sends all of the organic wastes which are generated in the industry in its feeding and restaurant area to composting, which is a process that does not generates polluting gases to the environment, reduces the quantity of waste sent to landfill and that, in the end, organic fertilizer will be used”, Faneza emphasizes.
