Prati-Donaduzzi and Toledo City Hall started  the activities of "Prati-Sustainable" project this month, which has been developed for three years at Engenheiro Waldyr Luiz Becker Municipal School, on Jardim Coopagro. And Dengue was the chosen topic to perform with about 100 students who are assisted in the project.
As a way of intensifying the control of Aedes aegypti mosquito and raising awareness among the population, Prati-Donaduzzi Environmental Department - as in previous years - is developing at school the awareness in order to promote preventive actions on the fight against dengue. "At the first meetings, the actions were intensified and students and teachers mobilized to take part in the fight against Aedes aegypti. The students were also guided to identify possible mosquito breedings and they had the opportunity of knowing the development phases and the mosquito life", Prati-Donaduzzi environmental technician, Faneza de Oliveira explains.
Faneza emphasizes that Dengue topic has been worked since the beginning of "Sustainable Prati" project and that the responsible team promotes theoretical and practical activities about dengue and prevention. "We explain that Aedes aegypti transmits dengue, zika and chikungunya, because of that, the importance of controling more and more the proliferation of the mosquito. We would like the students and teachers to become important multipliers and partners on the mosquito control work. We are showing that the fight against dengue is only possible if the population join it", she says.
