Sixth in the championship, Prati-Donaduzzi driver Julio Campos needs a combination of results to be a Stock Car champion on Sunday 15. The final stage of the championship takes place at 10:10 am at Interlagos racetrack, broadcast live on Globo. Nevertheless, the truth is that - before thinking about the circumstances that might give him the title - Julio thinks about victory.
“My only chance is to win, so we have to think about it. We don't have what to calculate much”, says the driver, who will start in sixth position. “The practice showed that we went back to where we should be in terms of car performance. However, Q3 did not go the way we wanted. I knew I needed to do a super junction to fight for pole position and I just missed. Therefore, that is it. Now we're going to work for tomorrow”, said Julio.
The simplest combination to give Julio Campos the title is to win, with Ricardo Maurício topping third, Thiago Camilo fifth and Daniel Serra 17th.
The first step towards the attempt to make this dream true was given with a good result in the qualifying Saturday, 14. Julio played Q3 (last phase of practice, which brings together only the six fastest). The driver from Paraná got the sixth mark, but he will start in front of three of his direct opponents in the fight for the championship.

“We ended the day with the good feeling of competing Q3, having done a good job and finding the right balance for the car”, says Rodolpho Mattheis, Prati-Donaduzzi team leader.
“We knew the third part of the track was the hardest for us. Julio did very well in the first two parts, but in the last, to compensate for this deficit, he went to the limit and entered the Junction very strongly. We wasted some time there, but it is part of the job. He had to risk, because we were already guaranteed ahead of Ricardinho, Serrinha and Rubinho ”.
Valdeno Brito from Paraíba had a more difficult day. He is still searching for the ideal car performance. “It was a result below what we expected for Valdeno. In the morning practice, the car was balanced. Nevertheless, in the afternoon it started to get very 'rear'. We still tried to find solutions, but it was not enough. We will work so that he can make a good recovery tomorrow”, concludes Rodolpho Mattheis.
