Toledo has a history marked by the dedication of people who have pioneered this land and made it one of the most prosperous cities in Paraná. On December 14, the municipality turns 67 years old. A date to be celebrated by the union of many hands, which made Toledo a place to work and live with quality of life. 

In this history of many belongings, Prati-Donaduzzi pharmaceutical industry has its contribution. In 1993, the company was established in Toledo, at the time with the name Fármaco. The dream of its founders, to produce medicines to take care of people's health, came true in this city. 

Toledo welcomed the new industry, which up to now grows with the municipality. “It is impossible to tell the company's history without quoting Toledo”, says founding partner. Carmen Donaduzzi.

Presence

In 26 years of operation in Toledo, the industry grows exponentially in the national pharmaceutical market. Prati-Donaduzzi is currently considered one of the largest companies in the country, according to a survey by Revista Época Negócios, and also the largest producer of generic drugs in Brazil *.

With this dimension, it produces in Toledo medicines that are marketed throughout the national territory. From here, products are taken to over 55,000 pharmacies and over 36,000 Basic Health Units in Brazil. 

Development

So that the population has access to medicines every day, the industry has the dedication of over 4,300 hired employees. Most of the company's professionals live in Toledo and surrounding municipalities. Many people who are hired by the company end up coming from other cities and states, making Toledo their new home.

By attracting workers, the company fulfills an important mission with the municipality, which is to contribute to economic and social development. "Prati participates strongly in the achievements attributed to the municipality of Toledo, through the creation of jobs and providing the growth of people through participation in the social, cultural and sports environment", says Secretary of Municipal Administration, Moacir Neodi Vanzzo.

Contribution

Economic development creates a positive cycle. Industrial production also results in the generation of taxes that return to the city itself. This contributes to more investments in structure and provision of services to the population.

The president of Toledo Commercial Association (ACIT), Marcos Destafeni, evaluates that Prati-Donaduzzi generates good results, thus projecting the municipality nationwide. “The company has great economic expression in the region. It circulates income, generating wealth and taxes, actively participating in the community with its social and environmental responsibility actions”, he said.

Social Responsibility

The insertion in the community of Toledo is supported by the respect and commitment to the people. Prati believes that contributing to society through social responsibility projects reinforces its presence as a company that relies on human potential. That is why it develops several internal and external projects in the areas of sports, citizenship, social assistance, environment, among others.

Expansion

This relationship between Prati and Toledo is likely to grow more and more. Like the municipality, the industry has growth plans. “We will continue our mission of allowing millions of Brazilians access to quality medicines at a fair price”, says CEO, Eder Fernando Maffissoni.
