The last stage of 2019 Stock Car season comes with a special taste for the Prati-Donaduzzi team, who say goodbye to the category with a driver fighting for the first time for the title race.
Julio Campos, who finished in third position last year, still has chances to finish the 2019 season as the champion.
“We reached the final with mathematical chances to the title. Our goal is to be able to close this cycle with Prati-Donaduzzi and our drivers as best we can. I am very confident. The car is very competitive and it has been improving in the last stages”, comments the team leader, Rodolpho Mattheis.
Julio Campos, who is from Curitiba, reinforces that he will fight for the championship until the end. “This is the most important weekend of the year. Therefore, we will do everything to get it. We want to win the race and we will fight until the last minute to raise the cup. We only have this option, the victory, and we are working on it. ”
Valdeno Brito also gets optimistic for the final as he comes from a great stage in Goiânia. “I had a very good race. We made the car work and I reach the final by knowing that we have a good chance to make another good result in Interlagos. I want to close the season with another podium. That’s my goal”, says Valdeno.
Challenges in Interlagos
The competition will be big among the six drivers with title possibility. Julio Campos is fifth in the standings with 282 points, 52 from leader Daniel Serra. As the race is worth 60 points, everything may happen.
“Interlagos is always a surprise, especially in the qualifying due to climate change that always comes as a further challenge. According to the rules issued by the organization, there will be a lot of strategy at stake. We hope to be right in our choice and in the tire changes that will be fundamental to make us the champions”, ends Rodolpho.
The 12th stage of 2019Stock Car will be held this Sunday, December 15 at Interlagos Circuit, in São Paulo, SP. The qualifying takes place on Saturday, 14th.
