The students, who participated in the Sustainable Prati Project, visited Florir Toledo yesterday (17th) and were introduced to the project that professionally trains young people with actions aimed at environmental protection, promoting their own social and economic development. During the visit, the students learned the process to propagate various plant species by cuttings, which is to provide or stimulate stem or branch rooting, developing a new plant. The process has a number of advantages, as it is possible to produce a large number of seeding by having few arrays.
“It is possible to identify in every major action the children´s motivation and engagement, they are constantly learning and I believe that the activities are providing them with opportunities to actually get down to work”, explains Prati-Donaduzzi´s environmental technician, Faneza de Oliveira.
At the end of the tour and the activities developed by the students, each one could take home a small plant of their choice: aromatic or medicinal herb.
Sustainable Prati Project is developed by Prati-Donaduzzi and Toledo City Hall at Engenheiro Waldyr Luiz Becker Municipal School, on Jardim Coopagro.
