Prati-Donaduzzi began on Monday (24) the 17th Sipat - Integrated Week of Occupational Accident Prevention. The opening was performed by the actors of Os Amadores Cia (The Amateur Theatre Company), which, through a skit, explained the importance of accident prevention in the workplace. Afterwards, the participants enjoyed the presentation of solo singers from SerMúsica project. According to the president of Prati-Donaduzzi Accident Prevention Internal Commission (CIPA), Fernando Francisco do Nascimento, it is necessary to raise awareness among employees that safety is involved with health. “We scheduled a whole week of actions to raise awareness about the prevention of accidents. However, this reflection needs to be worked every day”, he points out. During the event, the employee of Research, Development and Innovation Department, Marcos Roberto de Lima Costa was awarded a bicycle by having his phrase chosen: “For safety happens, it is not enough to know, it is necessary to act”. He explains that the phrase was drawn from the three verbs that are important in his life: to know, to do and to happen.
What is lacking in safety is mainly action. Sipat makes people think about the importance of acting when it comes to safety”, he emphasizes.
For the Head of People Development and Information Technology Departments, Carlos Rosa, the chosen phrase reflects the importance of having a safe behavior and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well.  “We need to raise awareness and put speech aside in order to adopt the practice, as expressed the winning phrase. Every year we are reducing accident severity rates, which fell 38% this year compared to 2015. Even so, we work every day to get to zero accidents in the company, "he explains.
The event has an extensive program until Friday (28th), with messages and lectures at different time on the safety of hands, depression, defensive driving, worker´s health, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), cardiovascular risk and alcohol and drug use prevention.
