NAP recognizes Prati-Donaduzzi entrepreneurs

The work based on devotion, professionalism, on appreciation of scientific and academic life and in compliance with regulatory standards are the reasons in which The National Academy of Pharmacy – one of the oldest Brazilian scientific societies in pharmaceutical field – will honor Dr. Luiz and Carmen Donaduzzi, founding partners of Prati-Donaduzzi Pharmaceutical Industry, which is leader in manufacturing generic drugs in the country. The event will take place tonight (22nd), in Toledo-PR.
The honor will be given by the entity president, Dr. Lauro Moretto, who met the honored couple when he was in Toledo/PR teaching at PUC/PR. At that time, he also got to know the company and got impressed by its history and structure, which made him invite them to take part in the Academy.
NAP is consisted of those ones who have important role and publications on pharmaceutical sciences field; its role is to serve as a showcase, recognize to the public, the well-known professionals.
Moretto highlighted the couple work in favor of pharmaceutical profession and also for the benefit of the community: “The couple Luiz and Carmen Donaduzzi is an inspiration to other academics and also to young people in scientific and pharmaceutical life”, he says.

The Entrepreneurs
President of Prati-Donaduzzi Board of Directors, Luiz Donaduzzi is the first of the six children of the couple Aldemar and Jenny Donaduzzi. He was born on January 22nd 1955 in Jaguari, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. On December 28th 1976 he got married to Mrs. Carmen Dieterich in Dourados, in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul.
After getting the Master´s Degree, and always in search of new challenges, he got a scholarship from the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPQ) in order to attend doctorate in France. In 1983, Luiz Donaduzzi and Carmen Donaduzzi moved to Nancy, in France, where they specialized in the expertise field. In 1988, at the age of 33, he got the Title of Doctor in Biotechnology and Food Industries from National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine de Nancy. At the same year, he returned to Brazil with his family, where he worked as a researcher in Biotechnology field in the Technological Institute of Pernambuco State, in Recife City, a position he held up to 1989.
He assumed the role of Technical Director of Technological Institute in Pernamuco in 1989. A year later, along with his relatives, he started up a small drug factory in Pernambuco. In 1993, he returned to the South of Brazil and he established residence in Toledo Town (PR), where he installed the drug industry.

The Academy
The National Academy of Pharmacy – NAP is a scientific civil society, which aims to study, debate, disseminate, educate and help as an advisory body in national and international activities, in everything related to pharmaceutical sciences.
Founded on August 13th 1937, by having its headquarter in Rio de Janeiro, and recognized by the Title of Public Utility, NAP is one of the oldest Brazilian scientific societies in pharmaceutical field.
