Prati-Donaduzzi executes pioneering work in Toledo and the surrounding region for the development of persons with disabilities (PcD’s). The initiative is from the recruitment and selection area – the company’s Persons with Disabilities Affairs Coordination, which seeks to train youths and adults with intellectual deficiencies so they may sucessfully enter the labor market.
The program began in February and shall have a minimum duration of six months. The meetings are held in Prati-Donaduzzi’s the Professional Education Center (CEP), once a week. According to the person responsible for these efforts, psychologist Maira Gualhanone, the group is composed of people with great potential and willpower to overcome difficulties and face new challenges. “By means of this course they have the opportunity of experiencing in practice some activities which they may execute in the company, respecting the particular situation of each person. They are exciting, discovering something new with every meeting”, she highlights.
Ricardo Felipe Dondi, 19 years old, believes that through the course he will achieve better opportunities in the labor market. “I am enjoying participating very much, and getting to know the routines of the production area. I have a lot of interest in being active within the company”, reveals the young man who is attending the 1st year of the Production Engineering Course.
One of the program’s classes was coordinated by collaborator Maiky Augusto Teixeira, who has Down Syndrome, and who has worked at the company for five years. “This experience of guiding the other students in this activity was very nice”, he recounts.

Inclusion
The participants which stand out during the program will have the opportunity of having their first job at Prati-Donaduzzi. The daily work hours shall be 4, 6 or 8 hours, according to each person’s performance. “We want to find the right area for each one, so that they feel good working for the company. Prati-Donaduzzi is open to receiving persons with disabilities, since inclusion is already a reality in the industry”, he completes, highlighting that the company currently employs 207 persons with disabilities, wotking in several areas and posts.
The program being developed is cyclical. In August 2015 the training of the second class is scheduled to begin, with 12 participants.
The PCD Program is an initiative of the Recruitment and Selection / Persons with Disabilities Affairs Coordination area, in partnership with the following sectors: Corporate University – Uniprati, Labor Routines, Sesmt, Restaurant, Internal and External Cleaning, CEP, Marketing and Centralpack.
