Prati-Donaduzzi, a 100% Brazilian pharmaceutical industry, has had the authorization to export nutraceutical products to the United States for more than two years, granted by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). Recently, it underwent a new inspection and the achievement of recertification without any evidence proves that the company is aligned with the mission of bringing products with quality and efficiency to people.
NSF is an organization considered the world leader in food safety and accredited by FDA (Food and Drug Administration), the Federal Agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. In 2018, exporting to the North American market was a milestone in the history of Prati-Donaduzzi. The maintenance of certification depends on the inspections carried out by NSF, which attest to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) used in the production routine of food supplements.
For this audit, new regulatory requirements were included due to the update of the North American legislation, which made the work even more challenging, according to the director of the Quality System, Luciano Rosado. “This year, 100% of the audited items were considered satisfactory, with no notes or non-compliance, which is a rare status to be achieved named ‘full compliance’. Thus, we received the upgrade to ‘grade A’, the maximum score to be obtained in an NSF certification. We have a lot to celebrate. Achieving international certification is already a great result, but with this level of merit, it is very satisfactory”.
Prati-Donaduzzi's Nutraceutical area follows quality standards that the pharmaceutical industry meets in the production of medicines, which demonstrates the company's concern with the quality of its products. The audit, carried out remotely due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, evaluated far beyond documents, visits were made in physical areas via video call to allow the auditor visual access to the production processes, and several interviews.
“After analyzing over 700 documents, the NSF audit found that the culture of Good Practices was incorporated into the routine of our employees who produce nutraceuticals”, says Nelson Ferreira Claro Júnior, director of the Nutraceuticals facility.
The recognition of the international body proves that the company is on the right path, always in pursuit of the formation of its human capital, new technologies, innovations and more space in the national and international pharmaceutical market.
