In a challenging weekend due to the constant climate changes, Julio Campos, from Paraná, made the effort and got two top-10, reaching fifth in the first race and seventh in the second. In total, added up to 31 points in the 10th round of the season, which was held this Sunday, 10, at Velo Cittá in Mogi Guaçu, SP.

The score allowed Julio to continue in the title race, despite the good performance of the leaders. “Yesterday we got a really fast car, but today, with the rain tires in the first race, we lost performance. It was not good and we can not change from one race to another. We just changed the tires, but the pace was not good”, says Julio.

“Adding these points up on a day when we couldn't fight for the victory was very important. We know about the difficulties to fight for the title, but it is good to continue in the competition. The idea is to try to discount at least about 10 points in Goiânia to reach the final with chances”, adds the driver.

There are two rounds left (three races) to close the season and Julio is fifth in the championship. The next is in Goiânia, on November 24, in a track that has already brought good results for Prati-Donaduzzi this year. In May, Julio Campos went to the podium in second place, after disputing the victory with Rubens Barrichello.

“Today we lacked a little pace to achieve better results. I think we set the stop time for the first race, the right amount of fuel, but the performance was not what we would like. This was more obvious in the second race. However, in these circumstances, a fifth and a seventh position were good results by thinking about the championship”, says team leader, Rodolpho Mattheis.

Starting behind due to the difficulties faced in qualifying, Valdeno Brito opted for taking a risk with Prati-Donaduzzi team and the bet was not paid. “We had to take a risk and that's what we did in the first race by putting dry track tires at the beginning in an attempt of getting good result”, says Valdeno.

“However, conditions were still very critical. It took time to dry and we did not take advantage of our option. In the second race, I started well and gained some positions, but someone leaned against my car and ended up pushing me against Felipe Lappena. These circumstances were created by the difficulties we faced on Saturday. Therefore, the important thing for the next one is for sure to start in the first positions”, complained the driver from Paraíba.
