Female detainees of the 20th Toledo Police Subdivision had a different afternoon that featured fashion parade and activities alluding to Pink October, which is a month dedicated to breast cancer prevention. The actions were carried out on Wednesday (23) by “Recomeçar” Project, from Prati-Donaduzzi, in partnership with “Amigas do Bem Viver” project.
About 24 women serving their sentence at 20th Toledo Police Subdivision were welcomed with the song “Sobrevivi” by singer Sarah Farias. The singers, in particular, were the “warriors” who are part of Amigas do Bem Viver. "The project came up in 2015 as a way of raising the self-esteem of women who are living or have lived the obstacles of cancer diagnosis", explained the coordinator, Terezinha Nucitelli.
In addition to singing, they also lavished beauty and friendliness at a fashion parade like the one recently held at Toledo Business and Commercial Association (ACIT). “We decided to invite these women who face or have bravely faced cancer to brighten the lives of female detainees”, said Maria Rita Pozzebon, Prati-Donaduzzi Social Responsibility Supervisor.

Emotion
Solange Potrich and Leila Duillus take part of Amigas do Bem Viver. Besides parading, they also shared, through comments, the time they were diagnosed with cancer and the treatment. “At the moment you don't think about dying, but about living. It is not cancer that will bring me down”, said Solange.
As a way of express gratitude, the detainees sang the gospel song “Sonda-me” by singer Aline de Barros and presented the “warriors” with a souvenir made by them. “We are deprived of liberty and often think of giving up. The message you brought us today gives us the strength not to give up but to start over”, said one of the detainees.
