Paraná's pharmaceutical industry, Prati-Donaduzzi, was once again present in the list of the 1,000 Best and Largest Brazilian companies. This is the sixth time that the industry appears in the ranking developed by Exame Magazine. Last month, the company was among the largest organizations in Valor 1000 Yearbook, developed by Valor Econômico Journal.
The result released by Exame Magazine earlier this month also reveals that Prati-Donaduzzi ranks 755th overall and 12th in the pharmaceutical segment.
This survey is considered one of the most important in the Brazilian market. They evaluated more than 3,000 companies, divided into 20 sectors of the Brazilian economy that stood out in 2018 in order to reach the result. In addition, they also released the list of the thousand largest companies in the country.
In total, there are 22 categories: Wholesale; Auto Industry; Capital Assets; Consumer Goods; Electronic Appliances; Energy; Pharmaceutical Industry; Construction Industry; Digital Industry; Infrastructure; Mining; Paper And Cellulose; Chemical and Petrochemical Industry; Health; Services; Steel and Metallurgy; Telecommunications; Textile; Transport; Retail; the Best of Agribusiness; and the Best Company of the Year.
For Prati-Donaduzzi CEO, Eder Fernando Maffissoni, EXAME's ranking highlights the robustness of the industry's business, which today is the largest producer of generic drugs in Brazil *.
“Being for the sixth time in a row among the thousand largest companies in Brazil is a source of pride. Recognition reaffirms our solidity in the pharmaceutical market. Moreover, it gives us the strength to continue investing in new technologies, infrastructure and especially in people”, he said.
With a forecast of growing on average 15% per year, Prati-Donaduzzi ended the first half of 2019 with 46 new drug presentations, totaling 354 products in its portfolio.
In order to achieve these goals and to end the year with an approximate production of 12 billion doses, the pharmaceutical company has made investments in several areas. Among them, in process improvement, especially in research, innovation, acquisition of new equipment and hiring qualified labor force.
Prati-Donaduzzi, the 100% capital Brazilian pharmaceutical industry is specialized in the development and production of generic drugs. Based in Toledo, western Paraná, Prati-Donaduzzi produces about 11.5 billion therapeutic doses per year and has about 4,300 employees. The company has one of the largest portfolios of generic drugs in Brazil* and aims to grow its sales and production capacity by 15% in 2019.
