The goal is only one: get points from the leader so that Julio Campos can return to be in the top three in the championship and keep fighting for the title. Therefore, Velopark circuit, stage for the next round of Stock Car to be held next Sunday, 15, is a great ally. With a good record at Nova Santa Rita race circuit in the metropolitan area of ​​Porto Alegre, RS, Prati-Donaduzzi team is looking for new podiums. Julio Campos made twice-double podium, two third places, in a round in 2015 and 2018. Valdeno Brito finished twice in second position at Velopark, in 2016 and 2017.

This is the second time the city has received Stock Car this season. The first round was at the opening of the championship and Prati-Donaduzzi drivers had no luck. Valdeno Brito crashed hard during the training on Saturday and Julio Campos´car was hit. However, for team leader, Rodolpho Mattheis, Prati-Donaduzzi has everything to make a great race with fast cars and circuit experience.

“We have a very positive circuit record at Velopark in other years. The asphalt is not very abrasive, consequently the tyres are not worn so much and we hope the weather helps us and the rain does not disturb. In general, both drivers like the circuit and our car has always been right there. We are ready to have a very good weekend. Our aim is to get points from Daniel Serra, who is the current leader. We have to take at least 6 points per round by the end of the year to have a chance to fight for the title. Mathematically, we can reach”, he explains.

Drivers reinforce optimism for Sunday's race

“Velopark is a place that always brought a lot of good results for us. We had two podiums and we were the highest scorer on this circuit. At the beginning of the year, we had an atypical race there, with a lot of rain, so even though we didn't get good results, we had a good performance”, says Julio Campos.

“The first time I drove at Velopark this year, I had an accident. Therefore, it will be my first race of the season at this circuit. It is a race circuit where I always did well, qualified well and I want to make a good weekend, score good points and fight for the podium”, he concludes.
