Mood swings, insecurities and doubts experienced by pregnant women were themes of the first meeting of the second group of 2019 Safe Pregnancy Program offered by Prati-Donaduzzi to the employees and their wives. The activity began this Tuesday (03) with the participation of 50 pregnant women. In the next two months, there will be 16 more activities.

One of them was Caroline Bressan from the Quality Assurance Department. She is two and a half months pregnant and still does not know the gender of the child, but the Mom is already thrilled to think about what will be her first child. First-time mother, like most participants, is full of doubts.

The opening ceremony was attended by Viola Caipira de Toledo Orchestra and by the psychologist, Sandra Stenzel, who talked about the “Emotions in Pregnancy”. According to Sandra, during pregnancy, the woman faces various types of feelings. “It's a roller coaster of sensations, between the joy and fear of discovery, the enthusiasm and nervousness of childbirth. Each mother feels differently. Emotions are ambiguous and often inevitable”, she explained.

The psychologist also said that moms feel the desire of eating different things, often caused by the subconscious that wants to "draw attention" in order to accumulate affection and attention, once after the baby is born, they will be exclusive to the child for a long time.

Themes

Moms and dads will understand a little more about how the new family member will arrive and how to improve the quality of life for pregnant women at home and at work.

Through professional support, they will receive guidance from the physical and mood changes experienced by the pregnant woman to breastfeeding care, how the newborn's bath must be, or the type of medication the mother can take during pregnancy and the puerperium. The future mother's oral health and first aid to the baby in emergency cases will be approached during classes.

The project has been carried out by the pharmaceutical company for 14 years and has already assisted more than 2,000 people and in 2018 won the Child Award, promoted by Abrinq Foundation.

Grandmas and dads

One of the differentials of this Program edition was the participation of grandmas. Rose Bressan made a point of accompanying her daughter Caroline Bressan, who works in the Quality Assurance Department. “Pregnancy is a unique and special moment for every woman. I'm very happy my mother is by my side”, said Caroline. Doting grandma said, “I usually accompany her at all times. Now I am so happy to be with Caroline at such an important phase. ”

The dads also participated, Paulo Cesar Echerdt, from the Compression Department accompanied his wife Fernanda Plieski, who is five months pregnant. The couple eagerly awaits the arrival of twins Laura and Luiza. "Even though this is my second pregnancy, participating in Safe Pregnancy Program is very important to clarify several doubts”, said Fernanda.

Yet, Paulo said that curiosity was the main reason that led him to participate, “it is the first time we are participating in the program. The themes caught our attention”, said Echerdt.
