"We have an emergency situation." The situation seemed real, when hearing the call on the radio, Prati-Donaduzzi brigade quickly mobilized for service at the indicated location. In a matter of minutes, the brigade members calmed the victims and provided first aid.
The good thing is that it was just a simulation to improve the practice of training of the company's Emergency Brigade.
This month's theme was - First Aid: Thermal and Chemical Burns. The purpose of such simulation is to keep the team able for emergency care.
Maycon Diones, from the External Maintenance department, was one of the first to arrive at the emergency room and was able to put into practice all the knowledge acquired in the lectures. “This simulation was very important. I was not warned and could put into practice the teaching of the classes. I felt prepared and I know I can act in a real case”, he said.
The simulation featured three victims who had simulated burns. The reality of the wounds impressed and looked real. Brigadier Carlos Lima, from the Quality Control department, was responsible for providing first aid. “These trainings let me know how to proceed in case of an emergency in the department where I work”, he says.
Emergency Brigade
Prati-Donaduzzi's emergency brigade staff currently has 153 people prepared to work in emergencies. The training is held every month indoors and outdoors along with Toledo Mutual Assistance Plan (PAM).
“In 2013, in partnership with the fire brigade, we established PAM with the aim of improving the brigade technique. I believe the goal has been achieved”, said Julio Cesar Capacle, Specialized Service Manager for Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine Engineering.
According to Labor Safety and Prevention Technician, Jaqueline Piaia Sierota, Prevention Safety Technicians are responsible for training the emergency brigade. "The brigade members are prepared to respond to emergency situations", she said.
