A lecture and some dynamic activities were used by the psychologist Denize Polla to rescue the self-esteem of the female prisoners of the 20th Police Subdivision (SDP) of Toledo. The activity was recently carried out through the Restart Program, developed by the Social Responsibility Department of the pharmaceutical industry seven years ago, in partnership with Toledo Forum and Community Council.
"We seek to rescue self-esteem so that they can feel important. For this, we use techniques to rescue this feeling of self-love”, said Denize.
The project aims to provide activities that enable learning and reflection for future reintegration of the prisioners in social life and in the labor market. The meetings take place on Wednesdays afternoon at the 20th Police Subdivision. This year, they will have the opportunity of participating in handicraft workshops (soap, decorated dishes, slippers, dish cloths, basting / locksmith, decoupage in bottles and Christmas garland) and beauty workshops (self- makeup, manicure and hairstyles).
In addition, lectures are given on topics such as motivation, self-esteem and interpersonal relationships, and inmates receive guidance on women's hygiene, skin care, oral health, and disease prevention, such as cervical cancer (preventive).
Cinematic debate with films will also be held, sports gymnastics, events on commemorative dates, as well as moments of praise and spiritual. And this year the team has a larger group of volunteers to assist with the project.
According to the supervisor of the Social Responsibility Department of Prati-Donaduzzi, Maria Rita Pozzebon, 35 women are assisted through the project. "In all these years of program development we have seen a significant improvement in the lives of each inmate, preparing them for the job market and reintegration into society. Prati is an organization concerned with the community in which it operates. Thus, we believe that these women can have a better future and quality of life through this program”, she emphasizes.
