The last action in May of Prati Sustainable project was a visit to Cerro Corá Sanga spring. The permanent preservation of the area is a natural space mainly protected due to the soil stabilizing capacity provided by riparian forests and other vegetations.
The students on third and fourth grades had the opportunity of verifying the situation in which the area is currently, with great amount of trash. “It was also pointed out that not only must the spring be preserved, but all the watercourse, including Marreco River which is the receiving body of the sanga and many others that form it”, Prati-Donaduzzi´s environmental technician Faneza de Oliveira explains.
The visit aimed at the students´awareness, and consequently the parents, neighbors and friends so that they can spread the culture of preserving and keeping the hydric resources and protecting the biodiversity in the town. On that occasion, it was emphasized the cleaning that is made in Cerro Corá every year, in which representatives of Prati-Donaduzzi Environmental Department and partners engage in removing all trash from the place. “We have already found televisions, clothes, mattresses, food and everything eles we can imagine. It is essential for us to develop these actions, by doing so, we can promote a change on people´s behavior regarding to the environment”, Faneza adds.
Sustainable Prati Project is developed by Prati-Donaduzzi and Toledo City Hall, at Engenheiro Waldyr Luiz Becker Municipal School on Jardim Coopagro.
