The Industry’s Social Service and Prati-Donaduzzi celebrated at an event on August 27th the excellent results obtained at the Universo das Ciências project carried out by the Edital SENAI-SESI de Inovação 2013. With lessons aimed at elementary school students from public and private schools of Toledo municipality the Universo das Ciências aims to provide scientific interest and knowledge. For 30 hours, divided into ten meetings, the subjects like chemistry physics, mathematics, biology, and industrial processes were presented.
According to SESI manager in Toledo, Cassia Rita S. Schaedler, the initiative reflects the strength and innovation of the partnership. “Prati is a company that prides itself on innovation and people development and is always open to partnerships. The Universo das Ciências was a very special experience, a perfect combination of good ideas,” she said.
The laboratory used for the presentations was located in the premises of Prati-Donaduzzi and was designed to provide lessons based on student participation and in the performance of practical activities. For the Manager of Strategic Coordination and Social Innovation Projects of SESIS, Daniele Farfus, the project as a whole, from its objective to the structure offered, provides quality training for people. “I met Prati-Donaduzzi in 2013 and I was blown away with the entrepreneurial vision for the community and for the empowerment of people through education,” she said.

Continuity
The end of the partnership complies with the requirements of the Notice, which has a beginning and an end, but according to the Personnel Development and IT Director of Prati-Donaduzzi, Carlos Rosa, the project will continue and will be expanded to serve a greater number of students. “The Universo das Ciências is a program that does not follow set standards because it seeks to awaken a practical interest in research. From now on it becomes a program that will continue under a partnership with the City Hall of Toledo, through the Department of Education, and will expand its service network.”
Carlos also highlighted the excellent acceptance in the project. “Without the partnership with SESI we would not have achieved such a success and visibility, so we're open to keep improving this partnership in current and future projects. On behalf of the board of Prati-Donaduzzi I would like to thank SESI, SENAI, the  students and families who believed in the premise and the City of Toledo the its acceptance in schools,” he concludes.
Toledo Education secretary, Tania Elisete De Grandi spoke highly of being able to perform the Universo das Ciências in partnership with Prati-Donaduzzi. “We had expressed our desire to expand the project together with Prati, mainly due to the outlying proposal that encourages observation and analysis as to build a strong scientific base,” she emphasizes.

“Gadgets” and Manual
The last three meetings are dedicated to the development of a “gadget” as a way to apply the content and concepts learnt. Five groups of students presented their inventions to those in attendance. For Mercia Salome Rotta, mother of student Elder Rotta de Oliveira, the project is an opportunity for students to widen their knowledge. “The feeling to see my son exhibiting the result of what you learned in class is indescribable. This is an excellent opportunity for students who want to go beyond,” she says.
The event was also had the release of the Sciences Universe Manual, a publication provided for in the Innovation Notice and aimed to be used as a register of learning and results, and as a tool to allow the project to be replicated in other environments.
