Paraná has only three companies among the 20 most innovative in the South Side, according to survey Campeãs da Inovação (Champions of Innovation), made by magazine Amanhã and by Edusys.

The ranking was based on questionnaires applied to the 500 largest companies in the South of the country and, last year, was led by the company from Rio Grande do Sul ‘AEL Sistemas’, specialized in electronic systems for the military and space areas.

Amanhã’s ranking also brings an alphabetical list with 30 other innovative companies in the South Side. Only four are from Paraná: Candon, Clinipam, Datacoper and Lactec.

The most innovative company in Paraná, and third place in the South Side, is Prati-Donaduzzi, which is based in Toledo, to the state’s West Side. The company, portrayed in Bem Feito’s series of stories from Parana, in the Gazeta do Povo, was founded in 1993 in a small laboratory. It is currently one of the country’s largest producer of generic medication and recently made an investment to increase its production capacity.
