About 50 million people worldwide have Epilepsy, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Considered one of the most common neurological diseases, those who receive the diagnosis face many challenges, among them, the lack of information and prejudice.

In order to raise the discussion about this pathology, March was chosen as the purple month, because the 26th is the Epilepsy awareness day. The movement brings together people from all over the world by aiming to bring knowledge and welcoming them so that they do not feel alone.

Prati-Donaduzzi Pharmaceutical Industry believes that its mission to promote health goes beyond the production of medicines. It is also in guaranteeing access to information and content with quality. Therefore, it supports several actions aimed at promoting knowledge about Epilepsy.

Epilepsy 360

Recently, the pharmaceutical company supported the Epilepsy 360 movement. Fully online, the event discussed the history of the disease, promoted medical classes, among other activities aimed at demystifying the prejudice surrounding the disease. Thousands of people took the opportunity to discuss and learn more about the issue.

Purple Day Brazil

For the second year in a row, another event that has the company's support is Purple Day Brazil. Scheduled for March 27 at 9:30 am, it also happens online and aims to address the theme of Epilepsy without prejudice. The action brings together great personalities, specialist doctors, health professionals and patients to talk about life with Epilepsy.

These discussions become the opportunity not only to raise awareness about the disease, but also to combat social injustices experienced by those ones who are diagnosed, as explained by the event's Ambassador, Eduardo Caminada Junior.

“I am sure that it will be a life-changing event for many people who have Epilepsy and do not recognize the need and importance of knowing about other people who are in the same condition as themselves, understanding their fears, insecurities, dreams and creating references for self-knowledge and seek quality of life ”, he assures.

The entire community is invited to participate in Purple Day Brazil. The activities will be free of charge and also promote the exchange of knowledge by an audience that shares the same struggle: Living with Epilepsy. For more information access http://bit.ly/purpledaybrasil.
