Prati-Donaduzzi, the largest producer of generic drugs in Brazil*, which is based in Toledo in western Paraná, will open this month a Distribution Center in the municipality of Eusébio, Ceará.
The new unit based in the Northeast will be responsible for product storage and order processing. The pharmaceutical industry is currently present in over 55 thousand pharmacies in Brazil.
Recently, the Governor of Ceará, Camilo Santana, was in Paraná and presented a benefit package for the installation of a factory in the state of Paraná to Prati-Donaduzzi CEO, Eder Fernando Maffissoni. During the meeting, Santana explained that Ceará has a favorable environment to house companies that can contribute to the development of the state and cited Prati-Donaduzzi as an example.
Strategy
The opening of a center in Ceará is part of the industry's expansion strategy that aims to produce 17 billion therapeutic doses per year by 2022. In addition, it aims to allow even more Brazilians to have access to quality drugs at an affordable price.
Moreover, most of the pharmaceutical customers are concentrated in the northeast of the country, and the distribution center in this space aims to make the delivery of medicines faster.
