The ninth round of Stock Car began with different scenarios in Cascavel, PR. The weather was very hot and sunny during the early morning training and it was rainy for the second group´s training in the afternoon. This condition allowed Prati-Donaduzzi team to evaluate the performance of the drivers under both conditions.

“The day was very good. It showed that our cars arrived fast from Petrópolis. We kept both cars among the first positions and this shows that we are competitive. We have some details to work out to be the fastest ones, but we are on the right way. In the rain, Julio was fast, remaining among the first positions in the first eight laps. Valdeno finished a tenth and a half behind the first position in the second training. The goal tomorrow in qualifying is to put both cars in Q3 (group of the six fastest drivers)”, says team chief, Rodolpho Mattheis.

Julio Campos, who is from Paraná and holds the fifth position in the championship, is optimistic with the results. “Cascavel has a circuit that we expected to be good for us. Valdeno did well, was in the top three. In my second training, I had to use a rain tire. The car behaved very well and we kept in the fight among the five fastest drivers under this condition. It gives us the confidence that under either of the two conditions, we are doing well and will fight for starting in the first positions. ”

Valdeno Brito, who had some of his best career results at the circuit in Parana, also believes the round will be beneficial for Prati-Donaduzzi. "It was a good round start. We still need to adjust the car in some curves, but we have everything to fight for a good position tomorrow", he says.

The round is special for the team, as it is competing at the “home” of its sponsor, Prati-Donaduzzi. The pharmaceutical industry is located in Toledo, neighboring town of Cascavel.

This Saturday, 19, the qualifying training takes place at 1:30pm. The races are on Sunday, 20.
