Members of Toledo's Mutual Assistance Plan (MAP) are ready to assist people who suffer chemical burns. Last week, they attended training carried out by Prati-Donaduzzi's Occupational Safety department on emergency procedures adopted by the industry in case of chemical burns. These include product containment and victim care.
The training was divided into two stages: theoretical and practical guidelines. “We simulated an accident with methacrylic acid and the participants were able to check, in practice, which measures to take”, explained the occupational safety technician, Thais Caroline Rosseto.
Every month, the Brigade members of the companies that participate in the MAP carry out trainings. The aim is to have a qualified team to support the Fire Department and respond to emergencies in Toledo´s companies.
According to the Sergeant of Toledo Fire Department - 2nd Sub-Grouping (SGB), Paulo Sérgio Silva, the activities carried out by the group aim to develop and make the engagement between companies, the community and public agencies easy. “This union between MAP and companies is very important, as its main objective is to exchange experiences and knowledge”, says Silva.
In May, May completed five years of implementation in Toledo. Since then, it conducts various training sessions in a cooperative manner with the Fire Department.
