The students of Engenheiro Waldyr Luiz Becker Manu Municipal School, from Jardim Coopagro, held last month a technical visit to the organic waste composting company - Compostec, in Toledo. The purpose of the action was to bring students closer to practices aimed at sustainable development in the region through the "Prati Sustentável" project, which is developed by Prati-Donaduzzi in partnership with Toledo City Hall.
According to the environmental technician of Prati-Donaduzzi, Faneza de Oliveira, the students learned about the process of the company that performs the final treatment and disposal of organic agroindustrial and urban waste, in accordance with the current environmental standards, using the process of aerobic composting and biotechnology. "The practical classes taught in the project aim to raise students' awareness of the importance of adopting attitudes that preserve the environment”, she says.
At this time, the 90 students, who took part in the visit, were given a sample of the high quality organic fertilizer for plant nutrition.
