Ten pharmacists selected to participate in the Industrial Pharmacy Residency Program, through a partnership between Prati-Donaduzzi and the State University of the West of Paraná (Unioeste), Campus Cascavel, participated in the master class on Tuesday (07th) inside the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, they had the opportunity to meet the five residents of the first group of the program, who reported on the experiences and challenges.
Residents were welcomed by the founding partner of Prati-Donaduzzi, Dr. Carmen Donaduzzi, who talked about her work and study path along with her husband and also founder-partner of the company, Dr. Luiz Donaduzzi. "I am very happy to know that this second group of residents is coming to fruition. Those ones who want to work and learn, here is the place that they will have the chance to make it happen”, she said.
The director of the Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of Unioeste, Professor Nereida Gioppo, highlighted the satisfaction with the partnership between the university and Prati-Donaduzzi. "It is a pride for Unioeste to offer the first residence in industrial pharmacy in the country and, a greater pride, is to have Prati as our partner from the beginning”, she explained.
For the principal of Unioeste Campus of Cascavel, professor Alexandre Webber, the partnership between the public and the private institutions assists in the transformation of the region. "It is an opportunity that the young people of our region and other places of the country have to do masters, doctorates and residences at Unioeste, because the public university has the essential role in the development of the students and in the formation of good professionals”, he justified.
During the master lecture the residents also attended a lecture on entrepreneurship with a focus on innovation, conducted by Prati-Donaduzzi's General Manager of Research, Development and Innovation (RD & I), Rubia Porsch.

Residents
Five out of the ten residents selected for the Residency Program in Industrial Pharmacy have already completed internships at Prati-Donaduzzi. Lucas Pedrosa has completed a vacation internship and mandatory internship at the company and has now returned as a resident. "Unlike the mandatory internship you do in a specific industry, as a resident I will have a macro view of the pharmaceutical industry and a good manager needs this overall view. I want to take the opportunity to bring new ideas and make the difference”, he said.
Ana Paula Hartmann worked as an employee of Prati-Donaduzzi for a period of eight and a half months in the RD & I - Analytical Department. She will now act as a resident in the program. "I discovered my affinity with the industrial pharmacy and I believe that in the residence I will be able to know the pharmaceutical industry as a whole. I hope to do a good job, because I expect to have a career at Prati”, she evaluated.
Yet, Lais Ayub did not know Prati-Donaduzzi. In 2016, an advertising about the unprecedented project in Brazil of Residency in Industrial Pharmacy aroused her curiosity. "I want to make a career in the industrial area and besides the specialization in residence, I wnt to have the practice in the pharmaceutical industry. I was delighted with the company in every way”, she said.
The theoretical activities of the program - which lasts two years - take place at Unioeste and the theoretical-practices are carried out inside the pharmaceutical industry.
